Child star, podcaster, and best-selling author Jeannette McCurdy will speak in Fayetteville next month.
McCurdy, author of the best-selling memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died about her experience as a child star and her relationship with an abusive, now-deceased mother, will speak at Fayetteville Town Center as part of the UA’s Distinguished Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5.
McCurdy had a breakout in 2008, when she starred in the Nickelodeon sitcom “iCarly,” and later a spinoff of that show called “Sam & Cat” with Ariana Grande. She is also the host of an interview podcast called “Empty Inside.” Earlier this year, she released the memoir, which reached the New York Times Bestseller List for non-fiction in both hardcover and e-book.

University students can reserve free tickets to the event beginning at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 29 through the office of Student Activities. After that, if any space remains, the tickets will be made available to the public beginning at noon on Nov. 30.

Bush, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Anderson Cooper, Tan France, Ezra Klein, Tarana Burke, Laura Bush, Laverne Cox, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shirin Ebadi, W.
